Cancelling Class Sessions and Setting Term Holidays

Helium provides two ways to exclude dates from a class's recurring schedule: Class Cancellations for individual sessions of a single class, and Holidays & Breaks for term-wide dates that apply to every class in a Class Group.

Class Cancellations

Class Cancellations exclude specific dates from a single class's recurring schedule. Cancelled sessions are removed from the Planner.

From the Planner

The fastest way to cancel a single session:

1. Tap the class occurrence on the Planner for the date to skip
2. Select Skip this class from the menu

The session is removed from the Planner immediately and added to the class's cancellation list.

From the Class

To manage multiple cancellations, or to remove a previously cancelled date:

1. Open Classes and tap the class
2. Go to the Schedule tab
3. Tap Class Cancellations
4. Tap the + button to add a date, or tap the trash icon next to a date to remove it
5. Tap Save

Holidays & Breaks

Holidays & Breaks are set at the Class Group level and apply automatically to every class in that group. Use this for any term-wide date that school is not in session.

1. Open Classes
2. Open the class group dropdown and tap the edit (pencil) icon next to the group
3. Tap Holidays & Breaks
4. Tap the + button to add a date, or tap the trash icon next to a date to remove it
5. Tap Save

What Is Not Affected

Cancellations and holidays only affect the recurring class schedule. They do not move Assignments due on those dates. Adjust the due date manually to reschedule an assignment.
