Using Exports to Backup Data, Move Between Accounts

Note: The Import/Export feature is currently being migrated to the new Helium. In the meantime, you'll need to use Helium Classic to perform backups and account migrations (though you'll find this takes effect in both new and Classic)—see the Helium Classic section below for instructions. Helium Classic will remain available through at least Summer 2026.

Overview

Helium can export all of your schedule data to a JSON backup file, which you can use to archive your data or transfer it to a different account. Imported data is always added alongside existing schedules in separate groups, so nothing is overwritten.


Important: Helium data is exported in JSON format. Imported data is added alongside existing schedules in separate groups and does not overwrite anything already in the account.

Helium Classic

Creating a Backup

  1. Sign in to your Helium account
  2. Navigate to Account → Settings → Import/Export
  3. Click Export to download your backup file


Moving Data to Another Account

  1. Log out of your current account
  2. Sign in to the account you'd like to move data into
  3. Navigate to Account → Settings → Import/Export
  4. Click Choose and select your exported backup file
  5. Click Import


Helium Classic will remain available through at least Summer 2026.
